Shanty Town Barricades.

Quick update on the Shanty Town project. To add some more detail (and cover) for the town, I built the first of a set of barricades. I want to make a bunch of these to really give that cluttered feel to the town.

Here are the first two. They came together really quickly with just scrap plastic sheet, rod, barrels, and strips.

A Valentine and Birthday Present.

Hello. A bit of a change of pace here, but I wanted to post pics of two presents I gave my wife recently for Valentines and her birthday (February 25). The Valentine present I made from scratch and painted. The birthday present was a yard gnome that had faded so much it was almost white. I primed it and repainted it adding more detail and texture, then clear coated it with some gloss varnish to protect him from the elements. Lastly is a pic of the present she made for me: a fox box filled with Jolly Ranchers (she knows what I like).

The robot is based on a valentine card I drew for her when we first met.

Killa Kan Mob!

Hello folks. Long time no update!

It's been a busy few weeks around here and I haven't had time to work on much. But here is a few shots of the Killa Kan mob I finished last week, including a sneak preview shot of two other models I finished putting together.

Old Crow Sci Fi Vehicles

While taking pictures of my shanty town, I was looking through my box of Old Crow sci fi vehicles. I really like these models, so I decided to break them out and take some pics.

Here they are painted up to go with my Pig Iron Kolony Militia and Ferals seen here. These were also used in a game here.

Shanty Town, Generator, and Power Pylon.

The shanty town is really coming together. I only have two more smaller buildings to convert and paint and it should be complete. After that I want to work up a bunch of incidental terrain pieces to go with it: barricades of scrap metal, catwalks, rusted burn barrels, crates and boxes, etc.

Here are some pics of the buildings together in a scene to give an idea of what the end result should look like. I am going for a really cramped and fortified town look for this. I might end up needing to make more buildings from scratch to expand the town and do some walls as well. But that's for another day...

Here are some pics of the power generator and power pylon I built. If they look familiar it is because they are made to look like the Quantum Gothic generator and pylon. I made these because at the time they had been out of business and I was unable to buy them. I liked the design so much I decided to build them myself. Apparently they are now back in business again. I hope to pick up their generator now that it is available again to add to mine. Mine is much bigger than the one they offered because I had a plastic container that was the perfect shape...just bigger.
